1200GS comparison review

Is the 1200GS still the most popular heavyweight adventure motorcycle?
Arguably BMW created the market segment but over the last 3 or 4 years the Europeans have been catching up. Truth is the BMW 1200 GS massively outsells every other adventure bike, but it's not my first choice.
